Two Worlds, Two Winemakers, One Vision. When César met Miguel Besoaín, Winemaker/owner of Lafken/Ungstein SpA, they worked on a project together and realized they had a common vision of what goes into producing a wine worthy of world recognition. So they joined forces to craft world-class wines.
César and Miguel searched out vineyards in Chile whose terroir would best express the characteristics of each grape variety. Hand-picked grapes, then gently selecting the berries at the winery on the sorting table, followed by minimal intervention, no additives, "honest" wines with a lot of character! Small batches of each vintage.
For César, these wines, after 40+ years in the U.S. Wine Industry, bring him full circle back to his native land, Chile, culminating his legendary career as an Enologist/Winemaster.

Enticing aromas of black currants mix with smoked meat and dry herbs. In the mouth notes of green bell peppers, sea salt, and black cherry are well structured and balanced. A suede-like texture leaves the mouth dry, begging for pairings with cheese and charcuterie. Appellation: Maipo Valley, Chile
Deep carmine color; robust aromas of black and red berries are juicy. Equally plump on the palate, the flavors start fruit forward with good acidity and fresh herbal notes adding complexity. The texture turns leathery with palpable mouth drying tannins, making this an ideal wine to pair with steaks. Maipo Valley,
Light-red color with a slight orange tint, typical of Burgundian-style;
Raspberries and cream on the nose are flirty and inviting. Smooth in the mouth with a burst of juicy mixed berries, blood orange, and a tangy aftertaste make for an easy to sip wine. Hints of minerals and violets linger on the finish. Casablanca Valley
Grapefruit and green apples characterize the aroma. Similar flavors are bright and juicy on the palate, the tart and ripe fruit is clean and refreshing. Some chalky minerals round out the finish which is dry and flavorful. An easy sipper on it’s own or with seafood and salads. Textbook SB from Leyda, the most prestigious region in Chile for SB. Location, location, location.
Aromas are mostly steely and mineral driven with a hint of peachy orchard fruit in the background. In the mouth it is sweet and round, expressing preserved peaches and apricots with a tangy lemon finish. A nice play between sweet and dry that would work well alongside spicy dishes. Appellation: Leyda Valley, Chile
Brick-red color, beautiful herbaceous nose with a well-evolved bouquet; full-bodied, complex, robust medley of dark fruits with hints of eucalyptus & mint on the palate. Balanced, pleasant lingering finish. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes left to dry on the vine (Appassimento Method), then long fermentation on the skins; aged 24 mos. in French Oak barrels - amarone-style.
